Selfie, 2010

I used  work as a graphic designer and laser engraver for a company here is Colorado. When picture day came around for the new website for this company I was at home with bronchitis  so I had no photo taken. I decided to  draw a cartoon version of myself and my daschund (Dilly) in lieu of a photo and uploaded that instead.

I came across this file while I was cleaning out an old hard drive this afternoon. So here I am.. In 2010. I still have the same hoodie jacket and now have 3 daschunds instead of just 1.

Spring is in the air

Spring is on its way. The days are noticeably getting longer and the temperatures are slowly rising (with a few mixed in blizzards here and there). My grass it trying to turn green, but so far it hasn't been to successful.

This image is about as random as it gets. Made up scene digitally painted with a brush I chose with my eyes closed.

Wool

This weeks image is based on the book Wool: Omnibus  (Hugh Howey) and the tag line is taken from the cover of the new release of the Omnibus. If you haven't checked this book out I would highly recommend it.

This initially took about 20 minutes to complete but I revisited the image later in the day to tinker a little more so total time is about 25 minutes. I will confess that the helmet is somewhat based on the Hazmat Guy Lego minifigure.

I'm currently reading Shift : Omnibus, book 2 in the Wool series and will do an image based on Shift when I am done reading it.

Torch

Normally drawings just "fall" out of my pencil, marker, wacom pen but this one just refused to come out. After several failed attempts I revisited this drawing this morning and I'm still not super happy with it, but for today, it's good enough.

Tardis

Todays drawing is of everyone favorite police box, the Tardis. Initially I had more detail drawn in, but less is more with these images so I took the detail back out.

Frozen Heart

I have always felt a little bit bad for Mr. Freeze. The poor guy has drawn the short end of every stick and just can't catch a break.

For this drawing I originally also drew the little bell jar in his hands, but decided to remove the jar and recrop the image to what you see now.

Cap

I've been trying to find some time to do a little drawing again, and finally found a few minutes to relax and draw a little doodle.

I am currently working on a commissioned figure based off a Halloween costume from 2013. The Halloween costume reminded me of Captain America so I decided to start off 2014 with The Cap
